[Random thought headcanon] The Mane 6, sexuality, and pairings · 5:08am
Before reading this is my headcanon and opinions, nothing else. Everyone has one and if you want feel free to leave your own in the comments.
So for some odd reason I had this stuck in my head all day, 3/4 of the romance fanfics on here are of lesbian couples between two members of the Mane 6. While I do not mind same-sex pairings I do get tired of these fics after awhile as they are more or less the same with...
>Characters keep sexuality a secret.
>They both they find out they are gay.
>May of also had secret crush on each other.
>Make out and/or fuck.
>Remain in closet.
>Come out to rest of Mane 6.
>Get to actual plot after 2/4 or even 3/4 of the fic.
Other than Brushed Away most fics go with this path and it gets boring very quickly, while I have no interest in writing till summer I thought I would leave my personal headcanon for the Mane 6 when it comes to sexuality/pairings.
Twilight Sparkle: Straight
Rarity: Straight
Pinkie Pie: Pansexual
Applejack: Lesbian
Rainbow Dash: Straight and transgender (transitioned during early teenage years)
Fluttershy: Straight (plus I joked she was a homphobe and transphobe)
Another important thing to note is that I don't really see myself shipping them together, the show itself presents them as a group of best friends that help and support each other. Plus its interesting to ship them with background ponies and develop more original stories than having two well developed characters we are familiar with.
