Alright, I'm new here so don't be too harsh on me if this has been mentioned before or something  So, a lot of people here have said that the prequel to NFS Carbon took place in 2001. But that is likely impossible, and I have evidence why: In the prequel to the game, Wolf (the TFK guy) is driving a 2004 Aston Martin DB5. 2004? In 2001? It's not possible! So I have come to the conclusion that the events of Carbon's prequel took place in either 2003 or 2004, as Wolf may have gotten a prototype of the car. This then makes the events of the main game happen sometime in 2008 or 2009. Anything to say? |

NFS Carbon takes place in the year 2006 The prequel happens 5 years before carbon, not one month before. The earliest the prequel could be is 2003, and if Carbon happens 5 years after the prequel, the earliest it could have happened is 2008. |

I'm trying to say that that's not possible because Wolf couldn't have had a 2004 car in 2001, like he does in the prequel. The only way to make the prequel accurate is to say it happened as early as 2003, if Wolf had a prototype of his 2004 Aston Martin DB5. This can disprove the idea that the prequel happened in 2001 because this solid, undeniable evidence makes it impossible for the prequel to have happened in 2001. |

No one says that EA was paying attention to the cars they choose since it was for game content...however since NFS Carbon was released in 2006, and serveral cars were just released in 2006 and 2006 are include in the game, its most likley in 2006...however.

The prequel does actually happen in 2001, but about the cars, forget about it. (probably they took some close look-alikes at the time and customized them a bit)
According to the Prima Guide, Nikki is 19 years when the player left Palmont and 24 when he came back to Palmont, so it still means it happened in 2001.

We got bunch of proofs for it being 2001 for sure and one(cars) for not.
BTW look at Dogeracers posts. I crashed my forehead from facepalm after seeing them...

I don't see how that is proof of how It happened in 2001 (Nikki was 19 then and 24 now, doesn't necessarily mean she was 19 in 2001 and 24 in 2006, could have been 19 in 2003 and 24 in 2008). |

I don't see the fail...I mean we all say its in 2001 but afterall these guys get called out? lol
However to the topic, the game released in 2006, and the according to the PG and CE Bonus stuff it reveals the player was gone for five years - which would be 2001 - I don't think the devs would place it into the future without hinting to it...So its most likely in 2006 (present) and flashback events are from 2001, it also says Present Day after the flashbacks, not much of ameaning but I assume they focused on 2006 here, anything else would thinking over the top.

That and even the game guide by Prima Games says it took place in 2001. |

Okay, I just didn't know it at the time, and Darius could still be driving an Audi Le Mans, which I think is faster than a normal R8. I agree with people that it happened in 2001 now. This topic was already dismissed and disproved a couple days ago, so why are you bringing it back up? |
