Guys, i know i should be inactive and all that, but i just felt that i NEED to drop by and post this. Get ready to get surprised: Now look at this BETA image:  Yep, that is a Chinatown Road. And, dafuq? No barriers. And the screen that i captured:  See? That same road, but in the game it is closed. Yu can't go there. Becuz barriers. >: ( So it looks like NFSUG1 HAD free roam. The map after barries looks as design only. I think that just for screen.
Sorry but i really think they won't be make so bad quality roads to drive.

Sorry but i really think they won't be make so bad quality roads to drive. Agree. Also, I believe that the fact it doesn't have barriers doesn't mean that the game would have free roam. |

Well, it could be a circuit where that way isn't blocked though. (you can't see if the other ways are blocked or not). But your theory may also be correct.
