It's official.
Microsoft has pulled the plug on Windows XP.

After 12 years of service, Microsoft's most successful operating system of all time - Windows XP - has been discontinued as of April 8th, 2014.

What do I think of it?
Kind of sad, really. Windows XP is a marvelous operating system with tons of new stuff added. It certainly changed computing for the better after Windows 2000. But to be honest, it was about time they did it. 12 years of support is actually a very long time and I'm happy because of that.

But nothing lasts forever.

So, rest in peace, Windows XP.
You served all of us well and left us with amazing memories.

If I'm using it right now and hadn't had a single problem (well, except for the time when my internet disconnected and explorer.exe crashed, but I contacted Microsoft about that and they gave me a link to a fix).

You people have to stop being so ignorant and forget Windows Vista's past. Think about the new Vista that is here today.
