I've took up a challenge of learning simple vector graphics and making some good stuff at the same time. I'm trying to recreate the demo map as it's only available in really poor quality when ripping it from the game using texed. The great advantage of vector graphics is that you can zoom in endlessly without any loss in quality. Here's a little teaser of what I'm doing right now, nice long street you've got there By just analyzing the curves I'm drawing on I have made a little theory in my head, after I finish we'll see if it fits

Good luck with whole map. Also your idea about using vector graphics to enhance it is great. I cant wait for it when it's done.

well I'm trying my best to make it as accurate as possible, I'm literally analyzing it pixel by pixel in some more complicated places. When I will have only few streets to do maybe I'll post a making-of video. I still have lots of stuff to do, especially correcting places where the road is 1,5 or 2 pixels wide (already encountered this in a few spots), cause I'm still a newbie in graphics...

Yeah, finally I got a reply on inkscape forum and now I know how to make a different road width. Expect some proress Actually today I've only done the wide road crossing between fortuna, kempton and lighthouse - rest is from yesterday.

It's the northernmost piece of road in SJ map, ingame this curve is actually elevated and there's a tunnel underneath it. But, in this case it seems everything is flat... (note on the right crossing you have a 2x2 pixel wide area which means it's a smooth connection, a sharp one would indicate it's 2 different, not linked roads). What do you think?

boum aqua = done pure paths orange = ready map (paths with proper width and crossing geometry between roads)
