Guys, i am not saying that this is 100.1% true. Remember, it is just a theory. (and also sorry if this is too obvious or already has been found out)
Anyway, i think that the NFSUG2 intro Nissan Skyline is the Eddie's Skyline. What do i mean by this? I mean the Player was racing in Olympic City on the intro, right? (even tho it's Bayview, the game still says it was OC) So the player was racing with a Skyline. He was really popular and he had a lot of hype. The big racing happened after he beat Eddie. So what if they were racing on pinkslips? The player won Eddie's car and then he became the Underground king. Why is the Skyline blue and looks different? Well obvious. He could re-customize the Skyline and give it the appearance he likes. Just think about it guys.

Except that after racing Eddie, you race Melissa in the final race, and with the same car you raced Eddie with. You're only allowed one car at at time in career mode, although it can be swapped for any car in the garage. My guess is that the game just assumes most players have chosen the Skyline because it has the best performance bars, although the RX7 is the fastest overall car in the game. (Note - Miata with stock gearing is best for race 107, 7 laps at Terminal Reverse, no traffic, because the AI's top speed is affected by the top speed of the car the player is driving).
Also doesn't Eddie's Skyline have a crew (Street Reapers) vinyl, and if so, does that vinyl show up in the intro of UG2?
I assume that it's been mentioned that that UG2's opening crash scene, which is supposed to be from UG1's map, actuallly occurs in UG2's map, near what is the start of the Lower Eastside track.
