Game was supposed to have damage similar to Burnout Paradise Car parts trading in multiplayer. Nicer graphics.

Where do you see nicer graphics than the release version? This looks like the PS2 version, just minor world differences (sky,...) I often read this here in usually older threads where people say this to a concept art which is just a drawing but they think its a ingame shot or a real life photo...seriously. Oh, this is just the PS2 version, which has more intense visual effects compared to PC version, in the final as well... - intense fog - different NOS on screen effect, screens turns light purple/blue - water drops behind car cause of wet road

"This game is all about customization" is why Carbon is better than the Underground series

Nah, the road reflections are only more intense, otherwise there's nothing better to say that they lowered the GFX for release...people said the same thing TO Carbon Beta but I pretty much proved that the motion blur was off or much lower than in final.

Yeah but without motion blur ( and on maximum settings otherwise ) the final version still doesn't have quite as good of graphics. Let's move on from that now. Anyways, I wonder how the damage would've looked had it been implemented, wait, maybe someone could check the files and see if it's possible to activate it? I'm guessing it'd probably crash the game but there's some hope.

Everything on maximum, but resolution is 1280 x 9xx or something like that. I don't see any visual differences except the brightness night be lighter, which is not a problem as adjustable.

Sorry if my post is about going a little off topic here. But I feel I want to mention this. So recently in NFS Underground 2,I noticed that when you turned on the jump camera in option menu and you got crashed by a traffic car,you can see the windows of your car have some cracks on them. But after the crash sequence ends, you can notice that the cracks are gone even though you're not resetted. Here's my theory about this, the developer tried to implement the visual damages just like in Most Wanted 2005 and Carbon(I mean, the visual damages like paint scratches and windows cracks). Then, they tried windows cracks but apparently their EAGL 2 engine at that time can't do this stuff(maybe EAGL 1 too)probably due to game memory or such others,so they scrapped it out but it's not fully scrapped. I could be wrong with this, but I'm not really sure. Can someone check this if this also in NFS Underground?I don't have the game at the moment.

Yes, U also has the same damage for the crash scene only.
Nah, how could a newer engine not be able for more damage, older NFS had full damage except HP2, its damage was restricted to smoking car, dents, broken glass and damageable hood which would move up and down at speeds and (maybe) fly away after mir damage.
I think the games didn't have advanced damage to keep the gameplay off interruption, like, if people don't want damaged cars...and probably to complex

I have the proof that the visual damage of the car was supposedly to be use outside of crash sequence. That means, the visual damage will stay on your car after you crashed.Take a look at these images I've noticed from cutscenes in the beginning of the game: Look closely at the windows, they do have cracks on them. I think the games didn't have advanced damage to keep the gameplay off interruption, like, if people don't want damaged cars...and probably to complex Maybe EAGL 2 can handle this thing. If it can,it would be nice if they keep it as an option like in Undercover where you could turn on or off the car's visual damage system.

The damage wasn't even implented. They said they were working on a damage system.Because its hard to do damage to every part there is.The game's damage was supposed to be simmilar to NFSUC.Only less intensive of course.
