I really gotta stop making these threads. and mods if you could delete the old ones. they are 100% USELESS anyway. i was looking around on google see if i can make my processor a bit faster. then i found that this cpu actually has a 4th core, but its just disabled. the core might not work or make the system unstable but i wanna try. www.guru3d.com/news-story/phenom-ii-x3-enable-and-unlock-the-4th-core.htmlread what it says there so that you know what im talking about. it requires a biostar or asrock MOBO. i have a Biostar N68S+ MOBO. now. what i need help is on finding out IF i have the option to unlock the 4th core. im pretty sure i dont since i've checked through the BIOS many many times and i have NOT seen that option. BUT. if anyone could maybe find another way to unlock that core by using software or somehow adding that option to the BIOS that would be of great help. the cpu isnt crappy or anything but if i can get more performance without involving overclocking or upgrading im all for it. thanks in advance. and i will try to post all the questions i have about PCs and stuff in THIS thread so im not making new ones everytime. also if anyone else wants to post here about PC stuff i think you should. like having a little board dedicated to PC tips and tricks or something like that.

Specific month or date? k. my dad got the processor April 4th, 2012. all of the PC's parts were ordered that day. it was from Tiger Direct in case that helps. its neither a 710 or 720. This is what the receipt and warranty slip say : "Socket AM2+ 8550 / 2.20GHz" "AMD Phenom X3 8550 Triple Core 2.2GHz AM2+ CPU OEM" "Triple Core, 2MB L3 Cache, 1.5 MB L2 Cache, 2.20GHz, Socket AM2+, 95W, No Fan, OEM" And JUST IN CASE the SKU : A79-8550 that's literally all it said and BTW the total of this PC was $183.82 (Canadian Dollars... so yea. also the taxes and handling aren't included but it was $248.92. Expensive no?)

But even if u can enable the 4 th core it wont result in a big upgtrade. Some people get great performance just with the th threec cores.

k... so like i said before if i needed any more help i would post here so that there's less spam. anyway i know i'm annoying as crap (idk why im like that, guess i'll just have to live with it) but i found out about dimensions in PC cases (yup it took me this long!)and i want to be completely sure that the GPU and everything else im getting will fit in this case. its the bitfenix shinobi. here's the build : ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Trypticon8/saved/JtmNnQas you can see im getting a Mid tower case. it has drive cages and i have heard that it could block off a lot of space for big components like the GPU. now im really close to getting it and if everything isnt ready for the day im getting it then im gonna have to wait another year just cuz i missed that day. i checked the card's dimensions and it should fit. i just want to make sure cuz i have seen ppl having issues with some big GPU's. thnx in advance guys
