I've talked to a couple of people who have worked in the military, they say it's hell, and the worst feeling is to see your friend die right in front of you, I believe what they say. But I wanna know your opinion, maybe post some military books or movies.

I am very interested by military history and the application of military force in the modern world. I've dedicated much personal study to the subject.

There are bunch of movies, Black Hawk Down, Act of Valor, Brothers in Arms, Pearl Harbor, Jarhead, Saving Private Ryan, Forest Gump...there are hundreds.
As a Football player I can relate to the army, the mental and physical pressure is similar in certain aspects...You go thru similar drills in practice at any weather at any cold and heat, you wanna earn glory and bring pride to you, your team, your family, your school and town, knowing that every game can be the last for one, the honor of a win and the downfall of defeat but you and your brothers give everything you can possibly give and no matter what the scoreboard says you'll still be able to look each other in the eyes.
It has both sides, the happy endings and the bad drama.
My father and grandpa's were in the army, one even was a general...being in the army is a honor and has its good times but then it also has the bad and very bad times where war and hell have no difference.
