Credit goes to World-Garage.com member House for these. I didn't write them x-(
What do I have to do before I can make an RPG?
-You have to have some RPG experience. It doesn't necessarily have to be here, but you must understand the RPG rules. If it is here, then you're chances are better. Some sites RPG differently, so it's good to know you understand how we work.
-You must have some decent grasp of the English language, including the use of paragraphing and punctuation. I'm sorry about this one, but any RPG that's hard to read is likely to fail very quickly. You don't have to perfect, but as long as we can understand your posts without much struggle, things should be ok.
-You must apply for, and receive, an RPG license. This is the all important one. See below for information on getting a license. Even good RPG's might be locked if you don't apply for a license first.
How do I get an RPG license?
By applying! Below is the new application process that you'll have to follow before posting your RPG.
-First, you must PM me to ask to apply. I'll almost certainly accept, unless you have no RPG experience that I know of, or your grammar is particularly bad. If you are accepted, I'll send you a PM and put you on the waiting list in this thread.
-Second, you must PM me the first post of your intended RPG as you plan to put it in the RPG itself (see below for advice). There are more detailed instructions for this below.
-Next, I'll do one of three things. I'll either accept your RPG, give you a license and let you start your RPG, or I'll reject your RPG and license and ask you to get some more experience before applying again, or I'll suggest some changes you should make to your intended RPG and leave you to resubmit it when you're done.
Who has an RPG License?
First, here's the list of people who already have a license (If you're an old member ofWG NFST and you have RPGed in the distant past, PM me and I'll probably accept you straight away).
@grim
@omegaegg
@mrultimate
Now here's the waiting list for people who have applied and are waiting to get their license.
-No One-
After I have a license, can I post a new RPG at any time?
-If you want to create a second RPG, please PM me first, asking permission. I'll either ask you to show me your plan for the RPG you want to make, give you permission to make it, or tell you not to. The last will probably only be used if there have been other RPGs made recently and I'm worried about them competing to much for the members.
Can I loose my RPG licence if I have it?
-Yes! If you start posting a lot of RPGs, you might have your name removed from this list, but only if you give me a really good reason to do so. Mainly this will only happen if you start making lots of bad RPGs without permission, or if you start breaking a lot of the RPG rules.
What goes in the first post?
-If you want some ideas you can check out the opening posts for some existing RPGs.
-First thing to go in should be the story of the RPG, however simple or complex it may be.
-Second section is any other information such as a map. You don't have to have this.
-Third write down any RPG specific rules.
-Lastly you can choose to put in the profiles of your own characters. Try and make them good, because other people might want to look at them for reference when making their own characters.
-Don't post 'in character' in the first post; it's best to wait until a number of other people have joined before starting.
Disclaimers:
-Newly created RPG's that have inactivity for two weeks will be closed, no questions asked.
