if i were you id wave up for something better tho.. PS4 or even an XBONE coz the days of PS3 and X360 are numbered. I bought mah PS3 back in april if im corrct due to the reason that imma poor i ony have GTA V. But then mah PC has a big library which continues to expand.

I might be the last who could tell something about those consoles...I mean I have experience with the PS2 and a bit with the PS3 (sports games only on both and a few racing games) but even tho this might help...

Do you need another console? If couple of your friends have one, you wouldn't need one (or the same) in first place.

Just like in ma clique, most of us never thought to buy a PS3 as we rarely played and a few had one already so we could still play the new Madden and NCAA's...we however still had our PS2 or Xbox from childhood.

On the other hand, if you sell the other it wouldn't matter and the PS3 can be used for multiple things and looks better than the 360.

I haven't seen the new consoles live, but from pictures they look both like some 90's/2000's video recorder with a gloss case, and for the cash I rather buy nice jeans or a new helmet and cleats or weekend party.

The poll well looks like it says its up to you. Money does not grow on trees anyways.

I dont think he would buy PS3 if all he can do is play with you nismo. And that library is just too limited IMO.

With black friday comin it will be cheap as fuck I guess...and if you sell the other you wouldn't lose a thing...but the question is (even if you sell the other) would you need one, especially if some friends have it already...it's up to you...but if you go for to buy a console, I'd say the PS3...

@nismo I think he doesn't want that the single/multiplayer ability depends on his online friends, but to be able to play with his friends.

My tip. I have had a PS3 since December 26th, 2012 at 8PM (yea, thats how memorable that day was for me) and for the first year and a half it was extremely enjoyable. Keep in mind im not allowed to play games like CoD (i am but my dad complains a lot about it and im afraid i might give him a heart attack or something. i mean he threw out a nerf that i bought with my own damn money. the FIRST thing i bought with my own money!) so i dont exactly have much to do. the only FPS i am allowed to play is Destiny. however on the PC he's fine with me playing TF2 (WTF?!) BACK TO THE TOPIC. This is NOT a good idea since games like GTA 5 already took the PS3 to its limits meaning there's not a lot of fun to be had on it anymore. Sony is dropping support for the PS3 next year (Xbox 360 on 2016) meaning no new updates shall be released and MAYBE no more first party games but PSN should still work on it for a year or two. The point is saving up for something better is the way to go. right now the Xbox one is the best console you can get. however many ppl say that the games lineup for the Xbox one is disappointing for 2015 and that the PS4 has much better games for that year. even upgrading your PC is a better choice. spend about $300 or $400 on upgrading your PC and your performance should be up to par or even better than the PS4's (which is the most powerful next gen console available. its a fact, even devs admit it) which is great. Then there's the hidden prices. you have to pay for online multiplayer on both consoles. $49.99 on PS4 and $59.99 on Xbone. on PC its free and you get cheaper games. playing with friends is great (believe me i love playing with friends! i mean who doesnt?) but you are getting an outdated console which is not good. as i said before playing with friends is really fun but whats the point in having a friend to play with when there's no games to be played??? if you still want my choice go buy a PS3. Why? you can get free online which means u can save up for a PS4 in the meantime, or even an Xbone or upgrading ur PC.

It doesn't really matter, but Sony's stuff is pretty high quality, and you can do more with a PS3 believe it or not. The older PS3's ( Here's a picture of the older one incase you were wondering: c2.staticflickr.com/2/1431/4728706291_8a34d7e59c_z.jpg ) can play PS2 games, both the older and the newer ones can be hooked up to a PSP through a USB port, and from there you can play PSP games on your TV instead of just on the PSP, and I've left my PS3 on for about 2 days and nothing happened to it. The thing didn't even overheat. Personally if I were you I'd wait about 2 years and then I'd get either the X1 or the PS4 though.

You can go for something different like clothes, phone, trip and if you do sports new equipment.But if you go for a console, a PS3 would be a good choice.

- high variety of games whether you like sports, racing or action.
- Slim and stylish
- Multimedia

The new consoles aren't worth the current price, rather get a new phone, clothes or throw a party and you can't play older games and the variety of games is very limited and aside sports, its questionable if there will be something good depending on your preferences.

Doesn't a PC require upgrades and repairs within certain periods? You can't play with your friends together...

I believe you can only get the slim models in the stores, the PS3 that runs PS2 games can only, if at all be found used cause first generation I read, buying used stuff is stupid tho
