I don't know what device it goes for.But,Im planning to jailbreak my iPod and I got some questions.

1.If I make a copy of the ipsw,will the safe,untouched copy be safe?

2.How can I check what device it goes to?

3.Would It ruin the apps I got on my iPod

4.What program is recommend to jailbreak and is fast?

My iPod is on iOS 8.1 and the app folders are changed from .app to metadata.

Also,I don't want to lose my game saves,photos,etc.

What to do?

No. Unless you messed up the process and at the end your Ipod is going to the iDustbin.

And I also suggest that you make a backupm of all you files somewhere.
