Hello gentlemen of the internet, it's the Most Wanted here. After constant waves of problems, I've finally decided to put the forum to sleep later this year.
Now, before you get ultimately fed up, let me tell you a story.
Back in 2013's spring - when the forum was created - I felt a bit more open when it came to the Theories project, and made a forum to allow you guys to get an insight at my projects, also allowing you to help me out if you so desire.
At first, when we've started feeling the true impact of the publicness of the forum, we've decided to make the forum into the strictest forum the racing game community has ever known. We've held monthly account deletion waves, when we've been deleting inactive and 'useless' profiles, so we've only had the 'useful' people around. Everyone kept it tidy, everyone were doing their jobs, and it all felt like an absolute elite to be able to stay on NFS Theories. The site at the time was notorious for its absolute strictness, we've received loads of complaints from people who we've decided to get rid of. Well, with a reason really.
But now in 2014 - the site went through a lot. Most of the people who were around in 2013 aren't on (or aren't contributing to) the site anymore. Everyone has changed a lot. The entire site as it is slowly became the exact opposite of what it used to be, and what I wanted to forum to be like in the future. Now it's filled with content not just EXTREMELY IRRELEVANT to the site and its etiquette, it's also just simply a large mess. Now it's nothing but a casual forum littered with irrelevancy.
Theories is not about researching Need for Speed anymore. It's about everything BUT what it is meant to be.
And as an administrator and the owner of the site - I feel like i am responsible for everything everyone does on this site. And not just that it's a bloody mess, I can clearly state that most people (grown ups, not kids) who come here to be casual site members simply end up leaving because of the amount of stupidity and irrelevancy being thrown at them. I feel embarrassed to look at this now.
Other than that, Need for Speed Theories nearly ruined my life several times. It has a notorious history of being attacked, and hated for obvious reasons. And as again i feel fully responsible for everything going on the site when these happen, and believe me - you do not want to go through that.
The official shutdown date of Need for Speed Theories is 2014 December 28th, Late Night around european time. I'll be there to say my goodbyes and to end an era.
To the people from 2013 who have either left the site or stayed here doing their bests to keep it alive: Thank you for all the support still, all the help and all the inspiration you've given to me last year! You'll never be forgotten for forming the site back then. It was an awesome experience and it was so nice to get to know people who were around to help! Too bad most of you left the site by now..
To the people from 2014: Thank you for coming onto Need for Speed Theories, and still keeping it alive even though it's not about what it used to be anymore. Most of you too are awesome people I'm glad that I could meet!
So what's going to happen now? Enjoy your 30 days left of Need for Speed Theories. When it's going to be the 28th of December, I'm going to put the site into a permanent Maintenance Mode. I also am going to create a special rank of people who will be raised up to staff level, who are still going to be able to access the site even after the shutdown. Those members will be specially selected by me - if you ask for it / about it - > it's instantly out the window. I won't even bother replying.
Sad to see it all end like this, but I have a feeling that it is for the best if we let Need for Speed Theories just fall asleep. It nearly died out several times this year, at least let it have a proper funeral.
Thinking back, implementing the original idea of the site should not have been done in a forum-form. That's the best way to get something that'll hop completely out of hand quicker than you'd think.
The possible successor of Need for Speed Theories is going to be a Reddit.com page for it. Announcements will be held soon.
Thanks again to all of those people who made the site what it was, and kept on supporting it to this day! It sure as hell has been an experience!
See you again on 2014 December 28th, late night european time.
-Most Wanted

Nothing else I can add to this. This forum has had its time it seems, and all good things must come to an end at some stage, regardless of whether we want it to or not.

Well, indeed. It has to die. Like everything else. I can move onto other forums I was on, but it was a very good time here. Sad to see this site to go offline.

It was inevitable, but I didn't expect it to happen this soon. I'll miss this site sorely, first that one minecraft server that accepted me as a mod died a few weeks ago, now this. Sigh...

Well, that is sad. We really had a nice time here, every discussion about NFS (theories or not), every time playing online, or just talking about random things and laughing, was worth it. I hope we can have more of this in the future.

I'll have so many memories on this site, from the time I just started out here and got mad at you for banning MLP a couple days later, from the time I hated TDU Drivetime and wanted to get EVERYONE to go on a crusade against them.............we will never forget......... now that would make a great paragraph. like srsly i put more effort into that than most of my english work

No offense, but I don't understand why NFST can't just be declared a general NFS Forum already instead of getting shut down in a few weeks (with theorizing still allowed for members who want to theorize). I know its main point was theories, but it's not like the activity here died along with the lack of theories. Things simply became more... relaxed, people moved on to irrelevancy (admittedly), though they also started being more active on the Need for Speed Discussion Board than on the Theories Boards, while obviously still being NFS fans - we can all agree that the whole thing put together has always been a NFS Forum populated by NFS Fans. Plus, this is not an IP. Board like World-Garage.com which costs money to maintain. It's a free board because it's ProBoard. I can respect your opinions and views MW, and I am. However, I can't agree with all of them. Yet so in the end you created this, thus it's your decision. The creator has every single right to do whatever he wants with his creation. I'm only going to continue inserting my final thoughts in time. NFST, to me and many others has been like a big internet home, and will actually continue to be so till it shuts down. A big home where we made virtual friends and we built things together, like Carbon Crews and TLC (which I'll easily move to a different site if needed since most of it remains in docs/sheets/drawings either way). Now despite being active (that's the reality and you all know it), its owner announces that it will get shut down. Good thing MW announced us, I'd never suspect him of shutting down NFST out of a sudden anyways, I know him well enough to tell he's a guy with good intentions. Still, due to that we have to move on to a new 'home'. Reddit.com you say? Yeah, probably some people here have no idea what that is or they do but would rather prefer something else. With all due respect I believe this is hasty decision and you could let someone else who you really trust to continue running NFST, MW. If I get accused of dramatizing, I don't care since I know that my thoughts here are not dramatizing. If some people think that all this wall of text is very immature for someone who's 20 years old and I'm too attached to NFST, to an extent I can't deny. But during my time on NFST I've always been honest with myself and everyone else. Why would I change into a liar? Both on here and in real life I've learned to speak my mind and stop caring about what people may or may not say. The thing is I got my reputation on NFST by being fully honest. For all of you who appreciate me, I hope realize it. In the end, if what I wrote is nothing more than a TLDR (too long didn't read) to some people... good. Ok, not really, BUT it's even worse if it ends up being skimmed through. Please read and understand every single sentence above, then take what you may from my wall of text. Thank you for creating NFST, MW. I'd like to believe this decision isn't hasty, but it's hard for me.

ok so, wow
wow
just wow
first of all, come on maaan, I love this site (well the community here, the rest is like the most off-topic shit ever) and I don't want to let this die. I mean, we could just like change the name and make this a forum about nfs and stuff like that. srsly please
second, what the fuck is this whole saint neil eskuri shit? and why does it have an own board?
I must say, thank you for creating that childish place of fucking stupidity, it was fucking unnecessary
third, this is going so off-topic from nfs itself, *cough* neil eskuri *cough* prepsi *cough* kacpa *cough* and more stuff *cough* like what the shit?
and I'm actually happy that the basement died
also, I made a lot of friend here, so thank you all :^)
so, if this is going to be shut down, gg
if not (or this will become a different nfs forum), well, thanku then
kthx

No grim mate, your points are valid indeed and your opinion is well respected by me. The decision was nowhere near easy to make, but it simply had to end like this.

@grim, there was a thread created by MW saying that he will pass on the site to someone else but I think he changed his mind because the thread got deleted.

Well crap.
This was a great community, with people genuinely interested in Nfs.
We had the theories that I would look at and just read through how Kacpa2 had found a hidden texture then Nismo would get excited then 379filipe would bring in some serious shit and get everyone searching for that discovery and knuckling down. Then the answer would come from ZV151 and make everyone pleased with their work.
I know I haven't been here that long but this has changed the way that I look at games now.
Thank you everyone.

Well... it was great being here. *cries* (i thought the forum opened in 2012...) but as everything else, death is inevitable (unless you're a rock ) this was the very first forum i joined. and a proper funeral cannot be "proper" without some sort of tribute. we have to make a tribute vid or something similar. it cant just be shutdown like that. maybe all of us can make a vid with our memories from here. this forum has accomplished great things and it might as well die in honor. i also want one last major theory to be released to end things with a bang. been great being here )':

By the 26th of December I'll have been here for an entire year. December 26 2013 10:04:06 PM to be more precise. so many memories, how useless I was, all the lols. at least a year and 2 days would be fine. should I bring back waffle weekend? no, too silly, and it might be the reason mw is shutting down the site. I guess nothing last forever, except for pizza, I'm pretty sure that'll always exist.

Well, this sucks. It's kind of hard to believe this will all be gone, but I guess we're finally at the end of the ride, aren't we guys? Well, if that's the case, then how about we theorize just one last time. For old times sake. For what brought us together. For the ride. I ordered my copy of the Gameinformer which includes a review of the beta Need for Speed Carbon from Amazon.com about two days ago, and it said the expected arrival date would be between December 2nd and December 8th, because of expedited shipping. (It would be truly awesome if I could pack it for shipping, since I do work for Amazon.com. Haha!) Let's go out on an extremely good and high note, not all sad and depressed. One more thing. It was a pleasure meeting and serving with you all. I salute you. ;_;7 Hopefully we can still stay in contact and be able to play again.
