I just got ug2 a few days ago on ps2 and now I'm having trouble with drag races. I usually own drag races in other nfs games but the drag races in ug2 are impossible for me. I already unlocked half of coal harbor and I drive a Ford Mustang GT. Any tips? please?

it's okay if you went "over rev" in gears 1 until 2. Once you reached 3, shifting will be very easy to do. I can send you a video if I can

Getting perfect shift in the early gears are very crucial, the good shift at start can't even give me enough head start. I once (barely) got perfect shifts, but the oppoments still keep passing. Can you please give me tips about using NOS?

Drag racing is like racing in a straight road in manual transmission. I recommend you change your controls into this
Steering and acceleration = arrow keys Left shift = gear up Left ctrl = gear down Right shift = nitrous
I use this control setup

Umm...I said its ps2. And since I'm using a controller I'm pretty sure I don't need to change controls.

Did you install upgrades and maybe change settings with dyno to get the extra horsepower...if I remember right the game has a difficulty setting under options, try out normal or easy.
Oh and upgrading cars in NFS always required install the lowest to the best part because the packs had individual parts not available in the better packs, to reach the best performance you need have had installed each pack once, in case of UG2 you may have to check the individual parts list to see which part isn't installed but gives more horsepower.

Have you ever drafted before? That could be a solution. Just pull up behind whoever's closest to you and stay behind them until you're going faster, then get behind the next closest person until you're in 1st.

Thanks for all the tips, I just changed to another car with faster acceleration, draft and set the difficulty to easy.

For the launch, it doesn't matter if you over rev, and it's better than early shift, and when you can, get the Skyline. It's probably the best drag car on the game, and is good for all race types.
