I've found some more pics of OC Beta, i think it belongs here, and NOT in underground theories and prima guides, since i founf those pics on nfs wiki. We've all seen this, i just posted it here, since it's a thread about nfsu beta. Look at this graphic! It would crash my ps3, lol.  This is a pic, which is not posted on this site.  This looks like a sci fi city.  Look at the awesome graphics, looks like NFS MW 2012 in 2003!!  Looks like X-mas in OC.  Beta OC Map:  I don't think it's the map of beta OC. It wouldn't be place for that big city in such a small area.
That's beta OC, awesome graphics, city and you can also see fucking high buildings in downotwn. Why did you replaced such a good city with that boring one EA? why?It would be cool to theorize it. But i think it needs a own thread, since underground theories thread is about something different. |

Look on the left on the 2nd pic, more MC textures.
Also the pics are from real life, no one could run that game in 2003, how can you think its a game?

That is one of those genius findings, dude!
1st picture: A larger version of my picture in the Underground theories thread.
2nd picture: Looks like a certain part of New York City plus some MC-like textures to the west.
3rd picture: Looks like Most Wanted + Underground + Carbon.
4th picture: Anyone seen the police car? Underground was supposed to have police! But it was cut.
5th picture: Does not seem much interesting.
6th picture: I don't see much beta stuff, other than the places not seen in the ingame map.

Underground was supposed to have police! But it was cut. 5th picture: Does not seem much interesting. 6th picture: I don't see much beta stuff, other than the places not seen in the ingame map. The 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th picture all look hand drawn. They are NOT in-game screenshots. With that being said, it increases the chances of these beautiful looking drawings to be fan made. They could also be concept art, but either way they are NOT screenshots. This means that it does not in any way show the graphical capability of any hardware or system at that time. These are just really well-made, detailed paintings. The 3rd could possibly be an in-game screenshot, but it's a long shot. It still seems painted to me. But it's still a nice painting.

ok guys i was looking again at the video of UG that had the beta test track in it and i found this :  This picture proves that the city that UG was supposed to be set in (which might have not been OC) was mostly completed and that this test track was just for testing the Drag mode.. these are light and there are several mountains right behind that (the mountains are barely visible.. or am i just confused???) but just one things wrong here.... THERE ARE NO MOUNTAINS IN OC!!! does this mean that canyon duels were an idea from the very start?? maybe!! or just that UG was supposed to be set in a different city that had cops in it and that it was open world! thoughts?? |

Be careful about north of Olympic City. North is not up in all Olympic City maps. See Prima Guides, Section Underground, Page 37.

Nice findings, but as Paul said, these pics are just a type of Fan-art/artwork/concept, like the intro of NFSMW (2005), not in game SS. Btw, about this pic: The cop car, interesting, maybe it is just a concept (not beta), maybe the devs had the plan for add cops in game? |

Sorry for kickin this old thread, but had to say this after reading all the comments to it  The map is not a the beta map, this is the map from the game files which I gave to someone who could highlight all driveable roads for me. All these pictures are official artwork/concept arts by EA for NFS Underground which are in the fansite kit, the developers draw concepts for the city how they will base the building of the city - these are not representing the beta Olympic City, just concepts arts that represent the districts of the final Olympic City...there some more concept arts than these, 3 for the commercial district, one for chinatown and one for something like atlantica, but it has beach and boardwalk, only very few high buildings, many trees and is located at the bottom of a canyon range...reminds me on Laguna Beach and others. This shows the city as a whole  This shows the financial district, the concept art for downtown which probably became Main Street (drag) and a Olympic Square section, the one with underground parking tunnel.  Shows the concept art for the commercial and industrial districts like Port Royal, Commercial Drag, there are a couple artworks for this one. [forgot to upoad] This is the concept for port royal territorty.The cop car has no deeper meaning, just for art.  this is representing the spillway  This shows the concept for atlantica district with its condos, hotels and the divided road, you can see the yacht harbor to the left behind the condos.  |
