Going On-Topic:
I also don't like very much about some things of NFSU2. The thing that I hate is the fact that you need rice a car to complete the game.

When i was plaing NFSU2 as kid i didnt understand this and in later part(coal harbor unlocked and around 80% of game beaten i was stuck, i tought that i need to find all secret races and beat them. I hate this dumb system it forces as to ugly overtune cars.

I 20% hate UG2 (80% for like)because: -Vinyls not editable, only colors. Why not like in carbon? Move, flip, Size, rotate and something like that is fun. That's why i like NFS Carbon. Boring. -No cops. Because i like pursuits.

It's an old thread.
But as its up already, there are two ghings I gotta say to the first post.
The Open World Thing
They probably wanted people to use and explore the open world feature as it was the first time in a NFS, meanwhile you would learn the roads - if they had a jump to event feature people would have barely used the free roaming meaning they just could have dropped the open world thing.Of course it sucks driving hundreds of miles but you know haha
Music
I like the r&b and hip hop tracks, tho around that time there were much better tunes out there than in the game...EA had a great taste of pickin black music tunes for Madden, NCAAF and NBA Live...

like F1McLaren said. you NEED to RICE a car to finish the game. and yes, its ricing for some ppl cuz they might be forced to put parts that they absolutely despise on their car to PROGRESS in the damn game! however for some ppl they dont give a single damn crap

I like NFSU2 alot, but I understand what you're trying to say. This is what I don't like about it ( I like to make lists, it's easier to read and it looks better organized, anyways..):
- Cut cars. Sure, they did add some nice new cars ( G35, GTO, 3000GT, H2, Escalade, etc. ) but they took out some of the best cars from NFSU, IMO. The S2000 would've been great competition for the RX-7 and RX-8, plus I bet it would sound ultra sick with the new sound files. The Integra, basically the same story, but it could put the pressure on the Celica, Eclipse, and TT. The Neon, I have no idea about but I do wish it was in NFSU2.
- Slow gameplay. There are so many cars and parts to unlock and instead of unlocking them in sets like in Underground you unlock them ONE BY ONE. The races seem to take forever even though they're supposedly the same length as the tracks in OC, and it's terrible because you're stuck with slow cars until about stage 3. In NFSU, most cars are fairly quick by the time they have all level 1 parts. It's just not the same.
- The city itself is really nice, but there's nothing really "fun" about it. No interesting hideouts, no sewers, no subway tracks to screw around on, no drawbridges or parkades, no HUUUUUGE jumps, etc. It's basically like meeting a really attractive girl who has nothing in common with you and listens to crap like new swagfag rap and today's hits.
- Cut features in general. There are missing roads, missing aftermarket parts, missing colors, missing vinyls, missing decals, missing neons, missing whatever. You name it, there's probably something missing. I don't care for the soundtrack either aside from some select tracks.
