In my opinion it can be just simple mention I believe the same Agree +1 Btw, I would like to see how the the cop cars from Bayview would be, and... just start a pursuit in Bayview (Pursuit in the Airport, lol) Maybe that's why there are no cops in Bayveiw. They're too busy racing in Rockport. maybe they're "training" to get higher times. Lol LOL

If Bayview dont have any cops, i could call it "Free City", because without cops i feel free to do something like : hit traffics, speeding etc.

Interesting... I think EA didn't find away to use cops in free roam BEFORE NFS MOST WANTED. No idea how to do cops... no cops.

One or more of the background sounds in Underground 2 include siren sounds, even though you never see a police car. The sirens could be from a non cop type vehicle though. Most Wanted expanded the list of background sounds, and the list of background sounds heard in Most Wanted make up almost all, if not all, the background sounds heard in Carbon and Undercover (Undercover has a unique thunder sound, but it never rains in Undercover).
Back to the Bayview police time trial records, there's no reason they could not travel from west coast USA (Bayview) to east coast (Rockport) for these competitions.

I think the cop background sounds are there to simulate city noise, nothing special.
Yeah, they could...but the event is definitely just a theory itself, just a story which doesn't mean a thing.

But if there is a sound, even in the background it must have a source.

But if there is a sound, even in the background it must have a source. It's a videogame. It would be a waste of code to add a true source.

No, if its a sound for background its separate from car sounds and might be integrated with a general sound scenery that includes traffic noise, horns, birds, dogs,...
The sirens don't have to be from a car file, just like the traffic noise isn't from the actual traffic you see driving.

What I think: the name of the game is "Underground 2" because the racers of the game know exactely how to hide unlike in Most Wanted and Carbon.

There were simply no cops, neither departments in Bayview...in a city like Bayview at such active nightlife scene it's doubtful there would be a chance to hide, but also race thru tight city traffic.
They can hide at their hangouts, but not when racing - cops would patrol the downtown area just like the upper class heights in general.
Example, since Bayview is heavily based on LA, LA is fullof cops, where's pretty much no street with not at least one patrol unit.
In Underground and Underground 2 there was no place for cops, the stories didn't involve rap sheets etc, cops didn't play a role for the underground scene of those games.

Then I go back to my initial idea. Underground 2 is the 1st free roam NFS and they coudn't find a way to introduce cops too. Evn in a free roam race the AIs behave like they have been lost sometimes. They don't have a good definition in following you so you can imagine why there are no cops. Better than s faliour... sonething missing.
