I didn't know where Shift content would go, so here it is.
If you watch the drivers in the race, a few familiar ones pop up. Clarence Callahan, aka Razor, Karol Monroe, aka the Drag King, etc. Though this alone could be explained as Slightly Mad paying homage to their predecessor, the designs of some of the rival drivers are painfully familiar. Ron Kay's design resembles Razor's Mustang, and it has the name written in the same font and place as Jewels. Alexi Cumia drives a Murcielago with battle machine designs. Not only that, but Tomas Rudall uses identical vinyls on his BMW M3 E46, (the street version of the MW car.)
If you look at the loading screen for Chet Ismet (accessible only for his driver duel), his car will be a Mazda RX-8, unlike the Honda S2000 he usually drives.
If you look off to the sides of the tracks, you will see the NFS is full of itself. Not only that, but you will notice that sometimes, the scenery looks more akin to Underground, Most Wanted, Carbon, or Undercover rather than an accurate depiction of world renowned race courses.
The Riviera (Exotic Racing DLC) is Monaco. There, I said it.
Replays are glitchy (that's more a statement than anything.)
The area around several tracks doesn't even remotely resemble the terrain in the real areas. Autopolis looks like its in California, with Infineon (which should've been in the game). Autopolis GP has entirely different background scenery than Lakeside. I'm not exactly sure about Road America, but I think Wisconsin looks at bit different than that. Ambush Canyon is where again (Arizona, Utah?). Rustle Creek is apparently in Europe, despite its insignia being colored as the USA flag. London River and Royal Mile are interesting concepts, but imagine the traffic congestion by blocking off that area of London. Well, at least it isn't Tokyo; wait, they blocked off a major road there too. Let's block off Paris, Washington, D.C., Moscow, and Rome while we're at it. No, fine. Back to Tokyo, where in the city is this supposed to be, because I know enough about Tokyo to safely say the road network doesn't just bring one down to a shipping dock from an elevated highway.
EDIT 1: not ten seconds after I looked up from the computer screen, I noticed Isabel Diaz as in the race as well. EDIT 2: Maybe I just should post with a race paused. The Acura NSX (Exotic DLC) makes some odd noises sometimes. I don't know the triggers, but one sound resembles that associated with a "flying saucer" whilst another was that a locomotive.
I'm sure to find something more, but for now, Arrivederci.

Good findings i knew about most of them(about Clarence, and Pro Street drivers, Kings and blacklist member are not only random racers who appear there). Can you point out on which races scenery resembles UG2's/Carbon/MW sceneries? I ask cuz when i get to play Shift from time to time i play only on Nurburgring rather than licking walls for some clues(i dont consider Shift yet to have something more than referensing names. BTW Shift is not Frostbite engine based game.

MW has banners in Rosewood, I think, that are identical to ones seen on one track, London Royal maybe. Autopolis Lakeside has background that similar to San Juan or Olympic City. Probably just reusing models, but still.
On a side note, does anyone have a clue what Darius' surname is? If we don't know, we could say Darius Falta is the same driver.

Darius has no proved name. Only proved ones are Girls who help us in NFSUG1,UG2, MW(i dont count later ones and carbon cuz in NFSC we dont know lastname of Nikki), Blacklist guys and few other characters(sgt. Nathan Cross). Most of NFSC characters have no revealed lastnames only Cross(first name Nathan) and Sal(last name Mustella) have proved last names.

The boards on the side of the tracks are "dynamic". If you were online and played the game then EA would change the billboards depending on who was paying them for advertising at the time. They should have just paid for some auto-parts and manufacturers and made them permanent.
Also, in order to avoid licensing costs the backgrounds are changed. You actually will see different backgrounds on the same tracks between Shift and Shift 2. It's also notable that some tracks are fictional much like in Shift 2. (Although Shift 2 contains one or two iconic tracks from previously in the series.) Tracks are licensed in Shift 2 but are year specific so you may find the tracks have changed from what they are now. Tracks with proper backgrounds include Spa (Shift contains the version with a bus stop chicane), Nurmburgring, Nordschlieffe, Laguna Seca, Suzuka, Monza and Willow Springs.
