I mean - seriously if you rotate Seacrest County's map 90 degrees to the left, you get Redview County's geographical design. What a cheap way of implementing a new map idea, eh?

Well their games are just as shit as their creativity, I guess if you ever wanted to explain someone why the new NFS games are bad, then this would be the icing on the cake.

Well their games are just as shit as their creativity, I guess if you ever wanted to explain someone why the new NFS games are bad, then this would be the icing on the cake. You seriously have a problem there... Their games have more success than any Black Box title according to sales, but also reviews are very high rated, especially for Hot Pursuit - their titles deifnitely brought in fresh air and a blast from the past. About the maps, actually there's isn't much choice, don't be so drama queen Both (fictional) County's are located in California, which means the Coastal to midland territory is more green, while the south (closer to Mexico) and eastern territories have much less wide and tight forests and plants outside the cities, there's pretty much no rain in Southern California while the Northern California has more mountains and forests with snowy alpines (e.g. Mammoth, nice place for ski/snowboarding trips) I assume Seacrest is between Northern California and Southern California borders, Redview would be there too. They had give a realistic placement for the different environments, it wouldn't make sense to place alpine mountains on the coast I don't think it was a cheap movement or idea, just geograpical logic and seriously both county's are sweet maps and just because it turns out be be similar dividing of environments when turning one map around, like, and? Addition: I think you have to turn the Redview map instread of Seacrest, I only see coastline on the 'North' of RC, East and West have land, I guess the Redview map is seen from the East to West which pretends it to be seen from South to North.

"The reviews are high rated" You missed the fact that this is an EA game on frostbite, IGN got paid a lot

I'm not talkin about IGN only, the gameshave overall very good ratings, and you can't deny that HP is a big success, MW and Rivals aren't bad either...
CG and Ghost basically made the best NFS titles from the past two generations imo

Haha, success? The success only comes from the fact that it's NFS not that the games were good. Yes, everyone new to the series would say that, but most people who have been into the series more would say the newer games are absolutely shit. You are right about the map placement and design, but they are still too similar to each other. The success of the newer games comes from the fact that the gaming industry is A LOT bigger now than it was 8 years ago. I bet most of the people who play Rivals are just newbies to the series and think it's the best game ever. It's just like buying your first Call of Duty game as Ghosts and saying it is the best. About the ratings? Well, let's not forget, it's EA's game for fuck's sake and they just hand out money to game reviewers to get more money off their game.

Seriously, if you hate it, hate it...but don't try to pull me over, it doesn't work.
BS, the previous titles were much 'worse' sold compared to the newer titles sales, taking your comment they should be sold worse not WAY better. You ma ynot like Hot Pursuit etc, you probably prefer ricing some low end vehicle, fine, but seriously, nothing beats a racing game with the hottest sportscars beating your rivals as a cop and racer thru the beauty and breath taking envronment sof mother nature California (for example).
I'm sorry, but this is no talk about facts with ya anymore, you only face your opinion, but I deliver facts and for your information (idk if you know) but what CG brought with Hot Pursuit was a great back to the roots which was greatful received by the new generation and veterans who have waited for this too long.
The only similarity are the themes of the environments -> Coast, Desert, Forests, Mountains...which was the basic track design variation in every NFS title from 1994 to 2002.In the new generation era, they took that concept into one free roamable world.
Interesting, that's exactly what applies to people who say Underground-Series is the best game ever...
Why? Because they fkin liked what they got, if you think those 'newbies' are wrong, dude, it's their opinion and you sure don't make the rules nor know what is the better game.
Oh come on, is this the pathetic answer to everything? Maybe they do pay one or the other, but not everyone and definitely not around the world.
Th end of the story, Hot Pursuit and Rivals are the best games the NFS franchise has brought to light for years. And Hot Pursuit brought back fast action, entertainment and crashes, good vs bad thing with world's hottest cars.

Hot Pursuit and Rivals are the bestSELLING games. Besides, the Need for Speed series was far less popular in the era of Carbon and Most Wanted.
I'm not saying I don't like the new games, I'm just stating the fact that they are not as good as some of the previous games (my opinion).
Coast, desert, forests and mountains has always been the theme? Please tell me more about how Undercover has forests and mountains.

I said from 1994 to 2002...
However, Undercover does have large mountains and canyons in Gold Coast Mountains.

What has Rivals to do with 1994-2002? Anyways, I'm not going to argue no more. I don't want this to turn into a flame war.

Are you kidding me?
I said that the desert, mountain, coast and forest environments were the basic track design concept in the original NFS era, EA/CG and Ghost brought that breath taking scenic drive back with Hot Pursuit and Rivals.
BB did that with The Run too.

Okay, we should just say that they are all good games, because they are all good games that people liked. Everyone has different tastes, and we don't have to argue like 5 year-olds. They are all good games, the only problem is that people are tired of the Criterion style Need for Speed, and just want the underground style to return for a little. The only bad game in the series was Undercover. I hope everyone can agree to that

And stop complaining about HP and Rivals being in California, because California is a very nice place and the games can still be fun even if they have similar environments.

No they're not , Rivals has terrible sales less than 3 million now while NFSUG1/UG2 have 11 million each, Carbon&MW2005 9 million each, Prostreet 7 million. NFS was on its best point in matter of popularity within gaming community, just after UG1 when young boys got overhyped cuz of Fas and Furious. This popularity held well until Prostreet made these kiddos rage (NO police? No neanz? no free roamz?) and later on Undercover got dumped by community getting low sales. HP has good sales around 8 million now

Nah, Kapca
Hot Pursuit had over 9 Million sales about 1 or 2 years after release, it had 5.5 million sales from release day to New year's eve (5 weeks), Most Wanted (2012) did 5.2 million in the time.
Pro Street had about 8 million sales if I remember right, it was sold better than the original MW and Carbon.
The numbers include online/digital sales.
Rivals only 3 million? I think this doesn't count online sales and not all platforms.
I don't complain about California, I love that they choose it, its my home state where I was born and raised.
